Mom, You Gained Your Wings. Jesus, This Wandering Sheep Needs You.
I don't have a good reason for doing this to myself.
Sometimes, I just make myself cry in private.
So, how did I do that this time?
...I watched a scene from a movie I have not watched since I was probably in pre-school.
It was the scene where Bambi's mother is killed...
He goes back into the quiet snow, searching for his Mom.
The poor deer gets desperate, searching high and low for her until he starts to sob.
Finally, The Great Prince of the Forest emerges and appears before him.
"Your mother cannot be with you anymore."
My heart sank lower and lower as I, for the first time, identified with this kind of suffering...
As broken-hearted Bambi lifts his head with tears in his eyes, you hear these words:
"Come, my son."
-
Jesus, this is the cry of my heart to you.
You are the Good Shepherd that I seek as my heart aches for both my parents' presence from time to time.
I do know with all my heart that they are waiting patiently with You until the hour that you will rise in glory out of the heavens on your white horse (Revelation 19).
I am a sheep that seeks the voice of my Shepherd, the Bishop of my soul.
All I ask is that you gently lift my face and say, "Come, my son."
Show me the way, O Lord!
- Brian, your heartbroken servant
